The Tunnel is a 2019 Norwegian disaster thriller. A truck smashes into a tunnel, trapping people on their way home for Christmas. Everyone is alert to a snowstorm outside and the first rescuers trying to reach the scene.

It’s based on an actual event, although not in this order. The acting, editing, scene lengths, and plot make this a great movie. There are also no genuinely bizarre scenes. In a disaster film, anything can happen. That’s not the case here. It’s a positive aspect of the film, so watch it!

The Bay

Release Date: 13 September 2012

Director: Barry Levinson

Cast: Kether Donohue, Kristen Connolly, Will Rogers, Stephen Kunken, Robert Treveiler, Nansi Aluka, Christopher Denham, Frank Deal, Michael Beasley, Jody Thompson, Andrew Stahl, Jane McNeill

It’s a mystery how it spreads or what it is, but dread turns to terror as individuals start acting strangely and dying. The authorities shut down the town to conceal the incident. The film is made by a local reporter who witnessed the epidemic and hoped that the horrible truth would ultimately come to light.

The first section is a fictional documentary. The suspense builds, but the genuinely horrible scenes remain off-screen. It works well since it does not rely on jumps.

Apartment 143

Release Date: 4 May 2011

Director: Carles Torrens

Cast: Kai Lennox, Gia Mantegna, Fiona Glascott, Francesc Garrido, Rick Gonzalez, Michael O’Keefe, Damian Roman, Laura Martuscelli, Fermi Reixach

The White family, who had lost their wife and mother in a vehicle accident, has had strange things since moving in. Things haven’t been going well just because they moved. Once the team has put up their equipment, they find shocking proof on camera.

The film is impressive for a horror movie night; this flick is scary but not memorable. Not much to the genre and not much emotion. Fortunately, it’s so forgettable that you’ll probably forget it the next day.

Ouija

The character and actor casting in this picture are superb. The movie isn’t scary.
